No Justice Films Pilot for CMT Show

No Justice

No Justice were filmed at the Wormy Dog Saloon in Oklahoma City on Saturday for a CMT pilot called “Red Dirt: Live”.

Red Dirt: Live highlights Red Dirt/Texas music artists both known and upcoming in the Red Dirt music scene. Each episode will profile a specific band providing viewers with an in depth background into each band, interviews as well as showcase live performances shot exclusively for the show at Oklahoma’s Red Dirt destination, The Wormy Dog Saloon.

You can keep track of show developments over on Langston’s Western Wear Blog (I know, right?), as creator and co-host Tony “The Rooster” Brown will be posting interviews, albums of the week and what’s going on with the proposed show.

If the program does make it to air, it would mean CMT has come quite a long way in regards to “red dirt” music. They had some not-so-nice words to say about the genre in 2006:

…it’s the same Progressive Country music that’s been flourishing in and around Austin for more than 30 years. It’s just another mode of naming it and then marketing the name. Maybe this new online itch about Red Dirt is just Oklahoma having some Texas envy.

No Justice’s single “Don’t Walk Away” is currently at number nine on the Texas Music Chart.

UPDATE: Red Dirt Report reports the taping was canceled at the last second, due to a personal conflict of one of the filmmakers.
