P.D.A. & Kawnar Take on the Beatles

P.D.A. & Kawnar - A Hard Week’s Night

On this day in 1964, The Beatles held the top five positions on the Billboard singles charts with “Can’t Buy Me Love”, “Twist and Shout”, “She Loves You”, “I Want to Hold Your Hand” and “Please Please Me,” while seven more Beatles singles were in the Billboard Hot 100.

Forty-five years since the Beatles made music history, Tulsa’s P.D.A. & Kawnar have ‘come together’ to release their Beatles tribute album, A Hard Week’s Night. Although the album cover is a take on the Beatles’ 1964 album, A Hard Day’s Night, the duo takes on songs throughout the Beatles’ catalog.

From AHardWeeksNight.com:

This is a side project from Tulsa Recording artists P.D.A. & Kawnar.

In the month of January, the 2 decided to come together (pun intended) and recreate some of their favorite Beatles songs. Turning songs like “I Want You” , “Love Me Do” , “Eleanor Rigby” and many more into an eclectic mix of Hip-Hop, Electronica, Pop, Rock and just about any genre you can name.

They spent a total of 5 days slaving over computers, keyboards and guitars. creating a 13 track mixtape from front to back. it was only fitting that the title be “A Hard Weeks Night”

During those 5 days they also had a camera running, documenting the project being made. the episode (5 in all) can be found on youtube.
