Toby Keith’s American Ride in Stores Today

Toby Keith - American Ride

Toby Keith release their thirteenth studio album, American Ride, today. Purchase the album on TobyKeith.com, iTunes or Amazon.com.

The album’s most heartfelt track is “Cryin’ For Me (Wayman’s Song)”, a song Keith wrote shortly after the passing of good friend and musician Wayman Tisdale. Keith sung vocals for a cover of “Never Gonna Give You Up” on Tisdale’s 2008 album, Rebound.

But whereas a good Toby Keith tune should stubbornly stick in your craw, too few of these samey-sounding songs are memorable. - Entertainment Weekly

Emerging as something of a 21st-century Merle Haggard both in his political ambiguity and his rough-edged approach to country hit-making, Toby Keith’s American Ride should simultaneously sharpen the singer’s already rather distinctive image as a true ‘Merican while keeping both good ol’ boys and bleeding hearts guessing. The album features “Crying for You,” a jazz-tinged number purportedly written for NBA player and jazz bassist Wayman Tisdale. While the preposterously bombastic title track, which sounds like the way Applebees tastes, has Superbowl halftime written all over it. - Prefix Mag

This album is definitely Toby. From start to finish you can hear a little bit of every phase of Toby’s career in the music on this CD. - Countryschatter.com
