Samantha Crain Releases New Album Today

Samantha Crain releases her third full-length album, Kid Face, today on Ramseur Records.
The songs were recorded at Tiny Telephone studio in San Francisco during June 2012, with producer John Vanderslice.
“(Crain) exudes a maturity, grace and gravitas that goes beyond her years, and has an honest, if sometimes fictionalized vision that is totally void of clichés. While she has been compared to Regina Spektor, Joanna Newsom and Bonnie Raitt, Kid Face feels like the truest expression of Samantha Crain as an artist.” -Zoiks! Online
“Crain’s border-walking between pop and country finds that utopia of being smooth on the ear without losing its sharper edges. Okay, I’ll say it; it’s like Regina Spektor was born around people that catfish with their bare hands.” - Chris Bell (Earbuddy)
“Crain sounds ready to explore new ways of living concentrated on the more pragmatic decisions marking adulthood. “Kid Face” might reference her youthful countenance, but there is nothing childlike about Crain’s ascent into the future.” -Blair Stiles (KDHX)
The album features Anne Lillis (drums, percussion, vocals), Brine Webb (bass, vocals), John Calvin (piano, synthesizer, banjo), Daniel Foulks (violin, vocals), Kyle Reid (lap steel, cigar box guitar, electric guitar) and Anna Ash (vocals).
